A new product is arriving in the Primewine store: directly from Japan a Rum inspired by an ancient legend of the East, whose peculiarity is the filtering of the product through real corals.

The story of Minoki

The creation of Rum Minoki is inspired by an ancient Japanese legend born at the dawn of the imperial period. This tells of the divine lineage of the first Emperor of Japan, Jinmu Tennō, from a dragon princess who lived in the depths of the Pacific Ocean in a castle made of coral.

Coral is the distinctive element of this particular Rum. In fact, it is now dead coral, bleached and finally transported by sea currents to the coasts of Japan, where it is collected to be used in the production of the product.

Thanks to its porosity, its use as a filtering system allows to obtain a perfectly smooth Rum. Then the filtered product is enriched through aging in Mizunara barrels with essences of tropical fruits and notes of vanilla.

In the production process of Rum Minoki also its aging plays an important role. For the production of the barrels, a local wood was chosen, called “Mizunara”, an Asian variant of white oak, specifically the Quercus mongolica var. crispula. The characteristics of this wood give the Rum a sweet and spicy taste with unique aromas that recall incense and sandalwood.
