One of the easiest cocktails for starters to make is probably Spritz. Yet few really know the portions and parts with which to prepare. But its simplicity, once you have learned the parts to be mixed is soon done!

Who doesn’t know or has never sipped a Spritz? Protagonist of the aperitif ritual, it is undoubtedly the most famous alcoholic long drink in Italy along with Negroni and Americano! The Aperol Spritz in 2011 was included among the official cocktails of the IBA, the International Association of Bartenders, but its origin dates back to 1800 when in the Lombard-Veneto Kingdom the troops of the Austrian empire used to lengthen local wines, to their alcohol content too much, with a splash of sparkling water. In fact, its name derives from spritzen, the German verb that describes this gesture … when, in the middle of the last century, the Spritz meets the Aperol, the marriage is sanctioned! The official recipe includes Aperol, prosecco and soda but the variant with Campari is also very popular. Can’t wait to prepare it?   • A part of white wine
  • a part of bitter
  • a part of sparkling water
  • a slice of lemon

And that’s it! Over time, however, this simple drink has been refined, improved or revised. Many have begun to compose it in a “new” and certainly fresher way. Composing the spritz in this way:

First the ice, then the prosecco, then the aperol and finally the sparkling water. With a simple straw or with a bar spoon (a cocktail spoon) for about a minute. At the end of the preparation you can add a slice of orange or other types of citrus fruits.

Over time, its “official” recipe includes Aperol, prosecco and soda, but the variant with campari is also very popular.
