Don Papa 10y is the evolution of the first Filipino rum distributed in Italy. In this version it comes with a higher gradation which enhances its characteristics. It takes its name from Papa Isio, a great national hero in the war of liberation of the Philippines from Spanish domination. It is produced on the island of Negros, where it ages and refines in toasted barrels already used for the maturation of American Bourbon for 10 years. It owes its characteristics also to the large amount of raw materials that are used to compose this rum, such as sugar cane, grown on the island of Negros, which having a volcanic soil and dominated by a humid and warm equatorial climate, makes it cane sugar one of the fullest and sweetest in the world. Thanks to the hot-humid climate, an alcoholic part of the Rum evaporates and no reintegration is carried out, thus giving the product a decidedly dark color.
