Saia is an intense wine, produced in Noto in Sicily. The name originates from the irrigation canals built centuries ago by the Arabs. In this area the vineyards with over 30 years extend over 60 hectares, on volcanic soils. For the production of this selection of Nero d’Avola del Feudo Macari, the traditional sapling method is used. The temperature-controlled vinification process lasts about 20 days, after which the wine matures in French barrels for 12-14 months. Finally, the refinement in the bottle lasts about 6 months.
